# LinkFam Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how **LINKFAM** (“we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the LinkFam mobile application (the “App”) and any related services.

If you do not agree with this Policy, please do not use the App.

## 1) What we collect

**Account information**

- Username, email address, and password (hashed).  

- Optional profile details (e.g., display name, business information).

**User content**

- Posts, comments, likes, images you upload.

**Location (optional)**

- If you grant permission, we use your device location to show nearby businesses or map results. You can disable location in your device settings.

**Usage data & device info**

- Basic app interactions (e.g., likes/comments), crash logs, and diagnostics used to improve performance and reliability.

We do **not** sell your personal data.

## 2) How we use your information

- To create and manage your account.

- To operate core features (feed, comments, likes, business listings, maps).

- To personalize discovery (e.g., nearby businesses if you enable location).

- To maintain safety, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.

- To improve the App’s performance and user experience.

## 3) Legal bases (EEA/UK users)

We process data under: (a) performance of a contract (providing the App),  

(b) legitimate interests (safety, improvement), and (c) consent (e.g., location).

## 4) Sharing your information

We share data only with service providers who help us run the App, such as:

- **Back4App/Parse** (database & APIs),

- **Google Maps Platform** (maps & geocoding),

- **Analytics/Crash reporting** (if enabled).

These providers process data on our behalf and under contract. We do not sell your data to third parties.

## 5) Data retention

We keep your data as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the App. You can request deletion (see Section 9).

## 6) Children’s privacy

The App is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age in your region). If we learn we collected data from a child, we will delete it.

Your information may be processed in countries other than your own. We take steps to ensure appropriate protections are in place.

We use industry-standard measures (e.g., HTTPS in transit). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

## 9) Your choices & rights

- **Access/Update:** You can view and edit certain profile details in the App.  

- **Delete account:** Contact us to request deletion or use in-app options if available.  

- **Location:** Enable/disable via device settings.  

- **Emails:** You can opt out of non-essential emails.

Links to third-party sites (e.g., business websites) are outside our control. Review their privacy policies before providing personal data.
